The following is from the "Ingalls Genealogy", by Dr Charles Burleigh of Malden (1903), and also from the "Ingalls Genealogy" by Dr Walter Renton Ingalls (1933), both on file at the New England Historical & Genealogical Society of Boston. Robert Ingalls was born at Skirbeck, Lincolnshire, England, about 1621. He was a Planter at Lynn, Mass, and owned the East Lynn Farm, and also the farms and lands he inherited from his father-in-law William Harker, also 60 acres in Lynn, 3 acres on Kings Beach, (origi- nally a part of Sagamare Hill Farm), also several acres on Bloody Creek in Romney Marsh. He served as Constable in Lynn in 1663-4. In 1677 when his son Nathaniel was drafted to go with the troops to Salem, he objected on the ground that the boy was not fit as he was only 17, and offered to go in his stead. A deed signed January 1/1685-6 gave most of his property to his sons Robert, Samuel and Nathaniel, they to support the widow and pay other heirs. He died January 3/1698. He married in 1646, Sarah, daughter of William and Elizabeth Harker of Lynn. Issue:- 1. John Ingalls. Born 1646, died 1721. He married on May 26/1667, Elizabeth Barrat, and had five children. In 1692 removed to Swansea. 2. Hannah Ingalls. Born September 20/1647, died June 1684. She married on May 2/1673, Henry Stacey of Salem, Mass. Issue:- 2/1. Ephraim Stacey. Born April 1/1677. 2/2. Sarah Stacey. Born January 3/1678. 2/3. Ebenezer Stacey. January 4/168O. 2/4. John Stacey. 1682: died within a year. 3. Robert Ingalls. Born February 9/1649, died February 1688. He married on January 20/1675, Rebecca Leighton. See subject 352 for issue and further particulars. 4. Samuel Ingalls. Born September 22/1650, died at Ipswich, Mass, about 1711, where he had been made freeman in 1691. He was a Representative to the General Court, and was called Lieutenant. He married on February 2/1681, Hannah (Perkins) Brewer, widow of John Brewer and They had seven children. His estate comprised 3 acres, house & barn. 5. Sarah Ingalls. Born July 4/1654, died December 31/1688 unmarried. 6. Elizabeth Ingalls. Born March 7/1657, died November 2/1681. She married on January 4/1681, Samuel Hart, and had one daughter Elizabeth born October 21/1681. 7. Nathaniel Ingalls. Born 1660, died 1735. He married Anne Collins, daughter of Joseph Collins. They had ten children. His estate amounted to œ1011.0.0. 8. Eleazer Ingalls. Born 1661, died 1718. He married in 1683, Mary Hendley, daughter of Elias and Mary Hendley of Marblehead. He was a Cooper and developed into a merchant and extensive land owner. He died leaving a very large estate, inventoried at œ3707.0.0, consisting of land at Marblehead, Lynn, Dracut, Gloucester and other places. His father-in-law deeded to him on September 2/1685, a part of their homestead on the sea at Hendley's Cove on Peach Point, at the mouth of Marblehead Harbor, later known as Ingalls Beach. They had nine children. 9. Ruth Ingalls. Born 1663. Unmarried.
