                             JOHN MIRICK.

         The following is from Charlestown Genealogies, Vol 2, p 676,
by Thomas Bellows Wyman: and from The Thayer Genealogy, by Ruth Thayer
Haverscroft, Colorado Springs 1943-7.
         John Mirick was born at St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales, in
1614, and died at Charlestown, Mass., February 15/1678-9. He was a
cooper and block maker by trade, and had his own shop on the waterfront
of Charlestown, when he was an inhabitant on December 14/1641-2.
         He married, 1st, at Charlestown, in 1641, Hopestill ---, born
in England in 1619. He married, 2nd, at Cambridge, Mass., on April
3/1655, Elizabeth Wyborne, born at Scituate, Mass., daughter of Thomas
and Elizabeth Wyborne of Tenterden, Kent, England, who both came to
America. His estate was inventoried at ś59.
Issue:- (by his first wife Hopestill --)
1. Amathia Mirick  Born 1641, died May 10/l713. She married on
  November, Abel Benjamin, who died in l7l0. See subject 366
  for issue and further particulars.
2. Hopestill Mirick.  Born December 20/1642. She married Richard
  Rosmorgan.
3. Benjamin Mirick.  Born April 22/1644. He was a tailor in 1678 and
  a mariner in 1701.  He married, 1st, Sarah Orten, who died February
  14/1690 of small pox: they had four children. He married, 2nd, prior
  to 1694, Elizabeth Wyer, and had two children by her.
4. Hannah Mirick.  She married in 1672, John Walker.

Issue:- (by his second wife Elizabeth Wyborne)
5. John Mirick. Born at Charlestown in 1655. He married in 1682,
   Elizabeth Trowbridge.
6. Sarah Mirick. Born May 1/1657. She married Thomas Chapman.
7. Mercy Mirick. Born December 30/1658.  She married John Mousell.
8. Abigail Mirick. Born December 17/1660.  She married Joseph Allen
   of Sudbury, Mass.
9. Mary Mirick. She married Mr. Davoy.
10. Joseph Mirick.  He married Sarah ---.
11. James Mirick. died young.
12. Deborah Mirick. No data.                                                                                  
