                             RAULPHE EARLE.

         The following is from "The Amos S. Earle Branch of the Ralph
Earle Family", by Amos Earle Vorhies, Grants Pass, Oregon, (1940): also
from "Ralph Earle and his Descendants" by Pliny Earle of Northampton,
Mass., (1888): and also from "A Reprint from the October 1936 number of
the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society Record", by Dr Spencer
Miller of Laguna Beach, California. All are on file at The New England
Historical & Genealogical Society of Boston.
        The Parish Register of St Michael's Church, Bishops Stortford,
Harts, 26 miles north of London, England, fails to record any person
named Earle, before 1605, when Raulphe's marriage was recorded. This
indicates he was born elsewhere. It is quite probable that Raulphe came
to Stortford as a student in the famous Grammar School. He wife was
baptized at Stortford in June 1581, daughter of George Browne a man of
importance there. Raulphe of Basbowe Lane, died on March 30/1657.
        He married on August 25/1605, Margaret Browne, daughter of
George Browne of Bishop's Stortford, and Elizabeth Lawe, whom he
married on October 2/1580. Margaret was baptized in June 1581 at St
Michaels Church and buried there on November 27/1647.
Issue:-
1. Raulphe Earle.   Baptized February 9/1606. He married on June
                  29/1651, Joan Savage and emigrated to New England in
                  1633-4.  See subject 666 for issue and further
                  particulars.
2. Samuel Earle.  Baptized August 27/1608.
3. John Earle     Baptized April 19/1610.
4. Dorothy Earle. Baptized August 25/1612, buried September 2/1614.
5. Margaret Earle Baptized October 9/1614.
6. George Earle.  Baptized December 25/1616, buried June 10/1617.
7. Jonas Earle.   Baptized January 18/1617, buried November 2/1619.
8. Elizabeth Earle. Baptized August 15/1619.
9. Richard Earle. Baptized November 1/1620. Was alive in 1653.
10. Mary Earle.   Baptized November 1/1622.                       
