The following is from Savage Genealogical Dictionary, Vol 5 p 351. on file at the New England Historical & Genealogical Society of Boston. John Parker was of Saco, Maine, in 1636. He purchased in 1650 Parker`s Island, now Georgetown, on the east side of the Kennebec River, near the mouth, and is thought to have settled there in 1629 on the west side of the river. Tradition says he was from Bideford, Devonshire, England. He died before 1661. His wife's name was Mary --. Issue:- 1. Thomas Parker. 2. John Parker. He married on August 20/1660, Mary, born July 7/1643, daughter of Daniel Fairfield. See subject 7O8 for issue and further particulars. 3. Mary Parker. She married Thomas Webber, who died at Charlestown, Mass, before 1695.
